Safe, Nurturing, and Predictable Classrooms

Safe, Nurturing, and Predictable Classrooms

It's a New Year and the perfect time to reconnect with the reasons why you love to work in early childhood.  What values do you bring to the classroom with you each day? How do you make your classrooms safe, nurturing, and predictable for your students?  We will focus on proactive strategies that foster self-regulation and autonomy in the classroom from a social-emotional perspective.

Presenter Profile:

Amanda Stradling is a LMSW in the state of New York.  Before moving to Tokyo in August 2019, she worked for the New York City Department of Education in the Division of Early Childhood Education as a Mental Health Consultant/School Social Worker.  In collaboration with the Center for Early Childhood Health & Development at NYU, Amanda presented citywide professional development workshops to preschool teachers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Currently, Amanda is enjoying her new life in Tokyo with her husband and two elementary-aged children.
